Private services will be held for Zane Daniel Williams, 84, of Cement.
Zane Daniel Williams was born August 19, 1932 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Tom Emzy “T. E.” Williams and Mary Stella (Mathis) Williams. He died February 13, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Zane grew up and attended school in the Cement area. He worked in the oilfield for some time then enlisted in the United States Army. He was in the Army from 1949 to 1958, serving his country during the Korean Conflict.
H e then worked as a steamfitter for a union in New York. He married his wife, Pat, on August 8, 1968 in Matawan, New Jersey and when their son was young they returned to Oklahoma to be close to family.
Z ane worked as a maintenance foreman at Grady Memorial Hospital for several years and went on to work in the area as plumber and homebuilder in construction.
He retired in his early sixties. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado each year.
He and Pat were into their 45 year of marriage when she passed away in 2013. He was also preceded in death by both parents, brother, Lane Williams, and sister, Mavis Dykes.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Dedra Williams, of Cyril; grandchildren, Derick, Tristin, and Ashley; and sister, Ella Mae Hart.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
