No public services will be held for Wilma Dee Roberson, 85, of Chickasha.
Wilma Dee (Patterson) Roberson was born February 5, 1937 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to Floyd Forrest Patterson and Lola Grace (Sellers) Patterson. She passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Wilma grew up in Chickasha and all through her time at Chickasha High School she sang with a “Girl’s Trio” made up of herself, Evelyn Mitchell Smith and Sylvia DeHart Boothe. She graduated in 1954.
On December 28, 1963, she married John Richard “Dick” Roberson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Wilma worked for Southwestern Bell for many years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for the kindergarten class.
She enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family. She loved cooking for people and every Christmas Eve, she would have all the family over to her home. She liked going to garage sales and collecting things. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Wilma was preceded in death by both parents, husband Dick Roberson in February 2010, nephew Jerry Leon Briscoe, niece Vicky Rene Nokes, and sisters Peggy Jean Patterson and Ann W. Briscoe.
She is survived by her son Robbin Morgan of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law Clara and Joel Phillips of Chickasha; grandson Dale Morgan of Weatherford; nephew Floyd Leslie Phillips of Taft; nephew Gary Phillips and wife Amy and their children Asher and Aurora, all of Yukon; nephew Scott Lynn Briscoe of California; niece Cheryl Perkins and husband Kirk of Hawaii; many other great-nieces and great-nephews and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
