Funeral services for Wiley Edwin Charlson, 76, of Chickasha, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Tims officiating.
Wiley Edwin Charlson was born March 12, 1939 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Edwin Charlson and Juanita (Cobb) Charlson. He died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Wiley grew up in Ninnekah and graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1957 and on June 30, 1959 he married Angie Hathorn in Wheeler, Texas and from this union a son, Greg, and a daughter, Cathy, were born.
Right out of high school he rough necked in the oil field for a few years, then began driving a truck for American Express Redball, where he worked for many years. Later he worked for over ten years for Lane Trailers, and then went to work for his son, Greg at Trail East Manufacturer, later known as C Bar C Trailers.
Wiley loved fishing and building model cars. He always enjoyed having a truck that was decked out. He loved spending time with his grandson, Austin.
He was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Larry Charlson, his son, Greg Charlson, his companion, Kacey Billington, a nephew, Chuck Charlson, and a sister-in-law, Judy Charlson.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ted Claypool, of Tuttle; grandson, Austin Charlson and daughter-in-law, Beverly Charlson, of Ninnekah; brother, Charles Charlson, of Perryton, Texas; and numerous extended family and friends that were special in Wiley’s life.
Services and interment in Ninnekah Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
