Funeral services for Wanda Maxine Ladd, 71, of Chickasha, will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jeremy Brooks officiating.
Wanda Maxine Ladd was born September 23, 1943 in Borger, Texas, the daughter of Tom Telfar Childress and Ina Fay (Douthit) Childress. She passed away at her home in Chickasha on Thursday, June 11, 2015.
Maxine attended school in Phillips, Texas until she moved to Bowlegs, Oklahoma in 1958. She graduated from Bowlegs High School in May of 1962.
She married Jack C. Ladd on November 19, 1962 and they moved back to Texas. They adopted a son, John Michael Ladd, in 1973.
Maxine moved to Seminole, Oklahoma in 1981, where she worked in the office of Moran Oil. She then moved to Chickasha in 1993 and made this her permanent home. She worked for Delta Faucet, Briggett Oilfield Trucking, Aggreko, and Fluid Services, where she retired as the office manager.
She loved going to yard sales, estate sales and collecting antique glass. She enjoyed playing with her fur babies, Rusty and Harley.
Maxine was preceded in death by her father, Tom T. Childress, mother, Ina Fay (Douthit) Childress, and grandparents.
She is survived by her son, John Michael Ladd of Hominy; sister and brother-in-law, Nadine and Darrel Stroud of Salina; brother, Rex Childress of Lindsay; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Lawny Martens of Enid; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Don Pewitt of Prague; fur babies, Rusty and Harley; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at a visitation at Ferguson Funeral Home Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Maxine’s wishes were to be cremated following the funeral services.
