Funeral services for Wanda Jo Holt, 81, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Hatfield officiating.
Wanda Jo Holt was born June 20, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Oscar Lawrence Davis and Mae Delores (Cannon) Davis. She died Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Chickasha.
Jo grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. She married Albert N. Holt on February 21, 1954 in Oklahoma City. She was able to stay home, raising her children and after they were grown, she was employed by Norick Brothers Printing, which became Reynolds and Reynolds and retired 30 years later in 2006.
Jo was all about family, there wasn’t a Sunday go by that she wasn’t preparing a family dinner and expected all to attend, or involved with her kids, doing something for them. When the grandkids came along, it was all about being a grandmother, but it wasn’t about the title of grandma, we all referred to her as JoJo. I promise our JoJo will be missed by not only family but many friends also.
Upon retiring Jo moved from Oklahoma City to Chickasha to be closer to family.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert, in 1987; and her sister, Patsy Ann Stanley in 1996.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Randy VanDeventer of Owasso; daughter, Jenny Williams of Seattle, Washington; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Annette Holt of Wenatchee, Washington; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lorie Holt of Chickasha; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; and many extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
