Visa “Shorty” Ross, 83, was born in Loco, Oklahoma to William E. and Mary (Mitchell) Wilson on January 10, 1928 and passed from this life August 20, 2011, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Loco, County Line area. She married M.J. Ross on June 26, 1948, in Texas and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. M.J. preceded her in death in 2009. They lived in Chickasha most of their married life.
She graduated from cosmetology school in 1959 and worked from her home. She was an accomplished seamstress and artist and belonged to the Chickasha Art Guild. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers.
She loved her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She always put them first and herself last. She touched and blessed so many lives.
Shorty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Jot Wilson and Zade Wilson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Paula Brown and husband Lonnie and Pam Morgan and husband Keith, both from Ninnekah; four grandchildren, Tim Brown of Chickasha, Brooke Britt and husband Tim of Edmond, Stephen Morgan and wife Charity of Chickasha, and Stephenie Morgan of Chickasha; six great-grandchildren, Colton and Camden Britt of Edmond, Kylie and Lola Morgan of Chickasha, and Payton and Preston Morgan of Chickasha; two brothers, Wat Wilson of Duncan and Bill Wilson and wife Betty of Anadarko; two sisters-in-law, Donna Wilson of Wichita, KS and Neta Wilson of Comanche, OK; several nieces and nephews and a lot of good friends.
Our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother will be greatly missed. We love you Mother. We love you Nana.
Viewing will be Monday afternoon and Tuesday. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
Family will be cebrating her life forever.
