Graveside services for Virginia Rose Oaks, 95, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 in Rose Hill Cemetery with Howard Oaks officiating.
Virginia Rose (Redmon) Oaks was born January 9, 1920, the daughter of J.R. Redmon and Alta (Saylors) Redmon. She died at her home in Chickasha on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
Virginia grew up in Cement and graduated from Cement High School. She married Howard Lacy Oaks on February 9, 1940 in Cement, Oklahoma. They were married until his death in January 1988.
Virginia was a homemaker most of her adult life, however she did work for TG&Y Stores as an inspector for about 15 years.
She had been a member of the First Christian Church. She loved traveling and eating out at different restaurants across Oklahoma and she enjoyed listening to big band music.
Virginia was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, and one sister, Fleta Walker.
She is survived by her son, Howard Bruce Oaks, of Chickasha.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
