Funeral services for Virginia Odom Hunter Hardy, 92, of Chickasha, will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7 th , 2015, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Esten Leonard officiating. Virginia Hardy was born November 13, 1922, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bill Louis Odom and Lorene “Teen” Beauchamp Odom. She died Friday, January 2, 2015, in Chickasha. Virginia grew up in the Friend area where she attended schools and graduated from Friend High School. She married J.C. Hunter, in the late 1930’s and to this union her daughters, Shirley and Charlotte were born. Later in life she married C.A. “Nick Hardy”. Virginia had been employed during her lifetime mostly as a secretary/bookkeeper, with Sonja’s Dress Shop, Dr. McDougal, Dr. Foertsch, American Dusting and several more. She loved knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church and a past member of the Beta Sigma Phi. Virginia enjoyed life to the fullest and was always the life of the party. She always enjoyed being with friends and her family. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Nick, in 1998; one brother, Bobby Louis Odom; one-grand-daughter, Tracey Ray; one grandson, Brett Day; and one great-grandson, Jeremy Day. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Day and Charlotte and Floyd Reedy, all of Chickasha; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Odom, of Sherwood, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Justin Reedy and wife, Becky, Scott Ray, Devon Day and Keely Reedy; and six great-grandchildren, Corbin, Caleb and Kayna Reedy, Alyssa, Keaton and Kynlee Day; niece, Susan Odom and nephew, Rory Odom; and extended family and friends. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
