Memorial Services for Virgie Lee Brantley will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Jim Talbert officiating.

Virgie Lee Brantley was born October, 24, 1932 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, the daughter of Arthur Lee Akins and Ethel (Cocheran) Akins. She passed into eternity at her home January 2, 2014 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Virgie grew up and went to school in the Cement area. She and Lawrence Jefferson Brantley were married on November 19, 1948 in Cement, Oklahoma.

Virgie worked as a health care aide for many years in the Chickasha area.

She enjoyed reading and shopping, and received a lot of joy from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her true passion was caring for and helping others.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends

She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Lawrence; her daughter, Barbara Wooldridge; and her son, Steve Brantley.

Survivors include; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gary Crow of Chickasha, Patricia and Wayne Wickham of Norman, and Terry Andrews of Chickasha; one son, Larry Brantley of Colony, Texas; her grandchildren, Ricky Alcorn, Brenda McNatt, Susan Martin, Pam McConnell, Tiffany Cleghorn, Krystal Williams, Angie Grant, Daryl Grant and Dylan Brantley; her great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Cremation and services will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
