Vernon “Wayne” Bordwine

Funeral services for Vernon Wayne Bordwine, 69, of Chickasha, will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Jim Henderson officiating.

Wayne Bordwine, was born June 3, 1943, in Binger, Oklahoma, the son of Bill Bordwine and Eunice McCloud Bordwine. He died at his home in Chickasha, Saturday, August 25, 2012.

Wayne married Jackie Raper on August 4, 1965 in Duncan, Oklahoma.  He was a self-employed truck driver and a farmer.

Wayne came to Chickasha as a teenager, then moved to Hinton for 10 years and grew up in the Binger – Lookeba area, and then moved back to Chickasha. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and traveling.  He loved trucking, hauling hay and farming.

Wayne loved horses and riding and he loved his grandchildren.  He always brought his nieces and nephews home with him when they were younger. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends – he never met a stranger, and he loved to talk.

Wayne was preceded in death by:  both parents; and three brothers, Roger Bordwine, Kenny Bordwine, and Gene Bordwine; two sisters, Lottie Bordwine, and Laquita Mooter; a son, Rodney Bordwine; a daughter, Nina Barker, and a granddaughter, McKayla Grace Bordwine.

Survivors include: wife, Jackie Bordwine of the home; son, Mike Bordwine and daughter-in-law Crystal of Newcastle; daughter, Patricia Williams and son-in-law Tommy of Ninnekah; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
