Memorial services for Van Allen Zimmerman, 66, of Chickasha, will be held by the family at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Full Gospel Church located at 722 N. 10 th Street, Chickasha, Oklahoma with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.
Van Allen Zimmerman was born May 16, 1949 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Cliston and Wanda Jo (Sloan) Zimmerman. He died Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Van grew up in the Carnegie area and later lived in Marietta and Pauls Valley.
He was employed in law enforcement as a deputy in Love County and also had been an emergency medical technician. Later he worked as an investigator with the Oklahoma District Attorney’s office.
On November 5, 2009, he married Stella Henry in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
Fishing was his greatest interest and he also enjoyed hunting. Van was dedicated to the Lord and was a great witness, ministering to many. He attended Full Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents and a son, Van Allen Zimmerman, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Stella, of the home, two daughters, Tonja Spantlo and Teffany Zimmerman, a brother, Jimmy McAnaw, a sister, Pam Cannon, and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
