Funeral services for Thurman Paul Marshall, 90, of Amber, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Critchfield officiating.
Thurman Paul Marshall was born on May 10, 1924 in Faxon, Oklahoma, the son of Marion and Virgie Mae (Collins) Marshall. He went home to his Lord on February 6, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Thurman married Doris High on June 10, 1951 in Walters, Oklahoma. They owned and operated a dairy farm for thirty years in the Tuttle and Amber area. Thurman later retired from Delta Faucet in 1989.
He served as a deacon, visiting the elderly and sick, for many years and was a member of Son Rise Baptist Church north of Chickasha.
He enjoyed woodwork and vegetable and flower gardening. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Thurman was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, Cordie Pierce and Edith Watts; and five brothers, Henry, Bill, George, Alvin, and Clifford Marshall.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Doris, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Donita Marshall of Rush Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Roger England of Dibble; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family and friends.
Interment will be held in Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
