Private family graveside services for Thetis Lahoma Gray, 86, of Chickasha, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Thetis Lahoma Gray was born June 5, 1931 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of Russell Rexford Worbes and Myrtle Lee (Richardson) Worbes. She went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Thetis grew up in the Ninnekah area and graduated from Ninnekah High School.
She married Leonard Joe Gray, Jr. on June 20, 1948 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They had 60 years together before Leonard passed away in 2008.
Thetis was a homemaker all of her life, taking care of her children and her home. She enjoyed passing many hours sewing with her daughter Teresa, and they were a part of the Busy Hands sewing group.
She attended Ninnekah Baptist Church and was active with many church activities such as preparing meals for the college students at USAO’s Baptist Student Union.
She was an amazing cook and loved reading. Thetis was an avid collector of Goofus Glass and had an extensive collection. She dearly loved her family, especially her son, Ron and daughter, Teresa.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, a grandson, Brandon Williams, three sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Linda Gray, of Chickasha; daughter, Teresa Gray, of Chickasha; sister, Hattie DeHart, of Duncan; brother, Jerry Mutz, of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
