Graveside funeral services for Swana Del Cogburn, 70, of Cement will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with John Zwolle officiating.
Swana Del Cogburn was born June 7, 1942, the daughter of T.B. Simmons and Rena Beavers Simmons. She died Friday, March 8, 2013 in Chickasha.
Del grew up in the Cement area, attending Cement Public Schools.
In October of 1957, she married James Cogburn in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
She was a homemaker most of her life, rearing her four children. She was very involved with helping her husband, James, train race horses.
Del enjoyed attending events at the Chickasha Senior Citizen Center, watching and playing with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. Del loved music and watching her son-in-law and grandchildren singing brought her great joy. She always enjoyed spending time with the entire family.
She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband James.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law; Vernon and Teresa Cogburn of Gans, Oklahoma, Kevin and Terry Cogburn of Morris, Oklahoma and Orrin and Vickie Cogburn of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law Dana and Monty Mink of Cement; three sisters and brother-in-law; Iris Simmons of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Arda and Houston Cogburn of Cement, Oklahoma and Holly Simmons of Cement; two brothers and sister-in-law Vance Simmons of Cement and Dustin and Jeanette Simmons also of Cement; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many others that she claimed as her own.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
