Funeral services for Steve Franklin Webb, 55, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at New Life Christian Church with Pastor Ezell Nelson officiating.
Steve Franklin Webb was born June 3, 1960 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Walter Wallace Webb and Lorene B. (Welchel) Webb. He passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Steve grew up in Chickasha, graduating from Chickasha High School. After high school, he went to work in the oilfield for a time. Steve turned his life over to Christ and at 24 enrolled and attended Oklahoma Christian College for one year, then transferred to Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, Kansas. He graduated with a degree in Bible Ministry and had the highest grade point average in that college’s history. While attending College at MCC, he devoted several summers working for Christian Prison Ministry of Missouri, located in Jefferson City, Missouri.
He was then recruited by his brother-in-law, Bill Guy, to work at Sentry Manufacturing Company, and helped successfully launch a new sales product line. He worked up to the Vice President/Sales Manager and while employed at Sentry, he also enrolled at USAO and received a degree in Business Administration.
When he left Sentry, he attended Cameron University in Lawton and got a degree in Accounting. He then accepted a job with Finley & Cook CPA in Shawnee within their tax department. After a time there, he went to work for Steagall Oil Company in Chickasha in the accounting department, retiring a few years ago due to health reasons.
Steve was a member of New Life Christian Church. He was a very compassionate and tender-hearted man. Steve was understanding of others and non-judgmental. He counselled many young people over the years and made a difference in a lot of people’s lives. He will be deeply missed by both family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both parents, his sister, Donna White, his brother, Sonny Webb, and his brother-in-law, Bill Guy.
Survivors are his sister, Dana Guy of Chickasha; two nephews, Kevin White and Nathan Ramsey, and wife, Sara, of Chickasha; his firstborn niece, Rileigh White, whom he had a special bond with; niece, Raylee Ramsey; numerous cousins and other extended family and friends.
Services and interment in Fairlawn Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
