A funeral service for Sherri Maye Schoolfield, 75, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Scott Guthrie and Randy Talley officiating.
Sherri Maye (Kesterson) Schoolfield was born November 6, 1948 in De Queen, Arkansas to William Olen Kesterson and Marilyn Fay (Smith) Kesterson. She passed from this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Sherri grew up in Dierks, Arkansas. She graduated OCCC with an Associates Degree in Nursing and worked as an RN for many years, which included Mercy in Ardmore, home health in Madill and Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she retired in 2013.
On March 1, 1979, she married Lawrence “Larry” Schoolfield and they had 27 years together until he passed away in 2006.
Sherri was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, making bread for the communions. She enjoyed gardening and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, her daughter Amy Schoolfield, her son-in-law Kevin Spence, her brother Benny Kesterson and her sister Debra Perez.
Loved ones left to remember her are her daughters Tina Potts and husband Joseph of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Cara Spence of Kingston; brother Sherrill Kesterson of Lockesburg, Arkansas and sister Sandra Kesterson of Chickasha; grandchildren Megan Drennan and husband Brandon, Riley Daniel, Joseph Potts, Michele Potts, Michael Potts, Eston Spence and Caity Spence; great-grandson Benjamin Drennan; sister-in-law Carrie Kesterson; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Viewing will be Thursday, January 18 th at Ferguson Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Linn Cemetery, located near Madill, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home
