A funeral service for Sharon Ann Kolzen, 71, of Sterling, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024 in Laverty Baptist Church with Reverend Kim Hayes officiating.
Sharon Ann Reed was born April 23, 1953 in Morton, Texas to Earl Everett Reed and Opal Mary Reed. She passed from this life on Monday, April 29, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Sharon grew up in the Chickasha area until she was a sophomore in high school, then she moved to Sterling where she graduated in 1971.
She married June Sovo and they had four boys together. For most of her life she was a homemaker and she loved being a fulltime mom and Nana.
On October 19, 1993, she married William E. Kolzen and they shared 30 years together.
Sharon enjoyed gardening and she was a hell of a cook. She often expressed how much she loved cooking for her family. She was very outgoing and everyone adored her. She would take you into her heart as her family and had many bonus sons and daughters. She had a soothing way about her that was calming. Sharon never told a lie and never spoke bad about others. She showed lots of love and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death most recently by her mother Opal (O’Briant) Reed Capshew and also by her father Earl Reed; son Rodrick Allen Sovo, grandparents Dessie Ann (Shepard) O’Briant and Ray O’Briant.
Loved ones left to remember her are her husband William E. Kolzen III of the home; sons Kristopher D. Sovo of the home, Justin W. Sovo and wife Nickol of Elgin, and Kevin M. Sovo of Walters; brothers Terry Reed and wife Elaine of New Braunfels, Texas and Danny Reed and wife Gail of McGill, Nevada; step-son William Kolzen IV and wife Melanie of Anadarko; step-daughters Johnie Mae Butcher of Sterling and Roberta Romo and husband Tony of Chickasha; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends.
Viewing for Sharon will be at Ferguson Funeral Home Thursday, May 2 nd from 2:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
