A private memorial service for Sarah Ann Dotson, 81, of Chickasha, will be held by the family at a later date with burial of the cremains at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Sarah Ann Dotson was born January 30, 1940 in Marked Tree, Arkansas, the daughter of Charlie Franklin Simpson and Sarah Katherine Fisher. She passed away on August 5, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Sarah attended the local school in Marked Tree. After school, at an early age, she married Ray Skinner. They were married for 22 years and had five children. They moved to OKC and lived in the same house for many years where she raised her children.
Sarah enjoyed decorating for Halloween and seeing all the kids in their costumes. Sarah loved Christmas and always started at least four days in advance preparing for their big Christmas meal. She enjoyed working in her flower beds in the yard, picking pecans from the beautiful trees and making pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Sarah Simpson; son Curtis Skinner and daughter Barbara Burdette; three sisters and one brother; husbands, Ed Redford and Robert Dotson.
Survived by sons, Sammy Skinner and wife Tammy of Verden, Jerry Skinner of Oklahoma City, Terry Skinner and wife Stacy of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren, Michael, Tiffany, Christy, Jared, Melissa, Missy, Hannah, Sylvia, Angel, Allana, Richard, Henry, Tommy, Ronnie, William and Alicia; two sisters, Hattie and Wanda, one brother, Larry; and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
