Funeral services for Samuel “Sam” Zeiset, 73, of Verden, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Plainview Mennonite Church west of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Samuel “Sam” Zeiset died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge, KS. He was born August 19, 1946 in Chickasha, OK., the son of Daniel and Zelda (Unruh) Zeiset. He was a long-time resident of Chickasha. He also lived in Lake Providence, LA. and has resided in Moundridge, KS., since 2019.
Sam was united in marriage to Christine Friesen on May 26, 1974 in Alberta, Canada.
He was a member of the Plainview Mennonite Church, Chickasha, OK.
Sam did land leveling in western Kansas and Louisiana and he also worked as a farm laborer in the Chickasha area for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Zeiset; sons and daughters-in-law, Loren and Loretta Zeiset of Pocasset, Elwood and Melissa Zeiset of West Point, Mississippi, Tyson and Melissa Zeiset of Bradley, Arkansas, Curt Zeiset of West Point, Mississippi and Jasper and Joni Zeiset of Verden; daughter, Faylene Zeiset of Moundridge, Kansas.; three brothers; two sisters; and eight grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; two brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
Interment in the Plainview Mennonite Cemetery will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
