Funeral services for Ryan Lynn Parrish, 35, of Pocasset, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 in the Epworth United Methodist Church.
Ryan Lynn Parrish passed away at his home on September 8, 2022. He was born on March 22, 1987 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Mark Parrish and Lisa (Brummell) Ketchum.
He graduated from Chickasha High School in 2006. He studied welding at Canadian Valley Technology Center and went on to become a talented welder.
Ryan had the opportunity to travel to many different states and worked at many different jobs where his outgoing personality served him well.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at the lake, anything that would keep him outside. Ryan loved all things fast; whether that was racing his ’63 Chevy at Thunder Valley, riding 4-wheelers with friends, or hitting jumps on his dirt bike at home on the farm. His two biggest loves in life were God and his nephew Bryden, with whom he spent many of his days riding bikes, playing catch, swimming, bowling or any variety of activities that they could do together.
Ryan’s love for God began at an early age, when he asked his mom to recite with him the sinner’s prayer for salvation. He was baptized in Lake Burtschi at the age of 12 and he went on to become very familiar with the Word of God. As his faith grew, he was able to witness to many people about the love of Jesus Christ.
There to welcome him Home were his step-father Tim Ketchum, grandparents Chris Parrish, Wynona Cavel, Leldon Brummell and James Ketchum.
He leaves behind his parents Mark Parrish and Lisa Ketchum; sister Kristen and spouse Andri Hardman; step-sister Katie Cobble; step-brother Dylan Ketchum and spouse Evan; grandparents Joan Brummell and Alice Ketchum; nephews Bryden, Beckham and Bo; niece Parker; and many other family and friends. We will miss his million-dollar smile for a lifetime.
The family requests that, if desired, memorial donations honoring Ryan’s life may be mailed to Hope Community Services, 6100 S. Walker Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73139 or at their website https://www.hopecsi.org .
Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery near Pocasset under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
