Funeral services for Ruth King, 94, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Scott Keneda officiating.
Ruth Lorraine King was born July 22, 1919 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Clarence Leske Seamands and Olive Mae (Carlton) Seamands. She died Saturday, May 03, 2014 in Chickasha.
Ruth grew up in Calumet, just off of historic Route 66. She graduated from Calumet High School and went on to attend Oklahoma A & M College in Stillwater and University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
In 1949, she married Richard Samuel Frank Sr. in El Reno, Oklahoma. After his death, she married Frank Emmanuel King, also in El Reno.
Ruth worked as a Home Economist for Grady County Extension Service, retiring in 1972.
She was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher of Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha.
As an active member within the Chickasha community, Ruth was a member and participant of the United Methodist Women of Grady County, Democrats of Oklahoma, Grady County Retired Educators Association, Kappa Delta Sorority, and the Oklahoma Mineral Owners Association. She joined Rural Neighbors OHCE in 1974, and also volunteered as an election poll worker. She donated her time by delivering Mobile Meals and volunteering as a reader at Southwest School. She also received a Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Extension Home Economists.
Ruth was preceded in death by both husbands and two daughters, Karen King Brown and Kathy King Parker.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Frank, Jr. of Noble and Joe King of Palos Verdes Estates, California; seven grandchildren, John Frank, Holly Frank Salazar, Elizabeth Parker, Heather Parker Owens, Natalie Brown Louis, Ryan King, and Alison King; two great grandchildren, Gibson Louis and Jackson Hoelcher; as well as many extended family and friends.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
