Graveside services for Ruby L. Gray, 92, of Rush Springs, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Bill Ohl officiating.
Ruby L. (Chambers) Gray was born on June 21, 1924 in Booneville, Arkansas to James and Dona Bell (Lee) Chambers. She died on August 7, 2016 in Harrah, Oklahoma.
Ruby grew up in a family of 13 children in the Chickasha area.
She married Vance Edwin Burton and they raised their six children on the family farm in Cement. Vance passed away in 1964 and a few years later, Ruby moved to Chickasha.
She worked at various odd jobs in the area. She enjoyed going to church and singing and she loved sewing.
In the 1970’s, Ruby married Walter D. Gray and they lived in Chickasha for a time then moved to Rush Springs. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Ruby moved to Harrah to be close to family within this past year.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, husbands, Vance and Walter, all of her siblings, and two children, Edwin Carl Burton and Juanita J. House.
She is survived by four daughters, Anita Roy of New Hampshire, Dona J. Robinson of Luther, Carol Warren of Georgia and Shelia Huse of Chickasha; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
