Graveside services for Royce Lee Lowber, 79, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Cordell, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 in Lawnview Cemetery located in Cordell, Oklahoma with Mike Rasmussen officiating.
Royce Lee Lowber was born February 15, 1939 in Cordell, Oklahoma the son of Oliver “Bill” William Lowber and Maggie Alamae (Collier) Lowber. He passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Royce was raised on a farm south of Cordell and spent the majority of his life as a Cordell resident. Throughout his life, he was an avid tennis player, a formidable chess player, and the best guy on any dance floor. He served as a Cordell city-councilman for many years. He spent most of his free time with his children, playing games, singing songs and coaching their sports teams and he was an adoring grandfather to his four grandsons. His kindness was enjoyed by everyone he ever encountered and he gave his love to everyone until his dying day.
He was preceded in death by both parents Bill and Maggie Lowber, brother Frank Lowber and sister Billoye DeLong.
Survivors include his wife Della of Cordell; son Scott Lowber of Oklahoma City; daughters Kerri Lowber of Oklahoma City, Wyndi Barr and husband Link of Oklahoma City, and Ceeja Malmkar and husband Lucas of Yukon; grandsons Matthew Lowber, Jack Waggoner, Kacen Malmkar and Ryker Malmkar; sisters LaZetta Penner and Berdena Cook; a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home, Chickasha, Oklahoma.
