A memorial service for Ronald Gene Brooksher, 80, of Mustang, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel located at 804 W. Utah Ave, in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Reverend Kim Hayes officiating.

Ronald Gene Brooksher was born April 21, 1944 in Texas City, Texas to Ralph Dennis Brooksher and Theda Faye (Anglin) Brooksher. He passed from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Ron grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1962. He graduated from Oklahoma State Tech in August 1965 with a degree in accounting.

He served in the United States Navy from December 1965 to April 1968, and was stationed on the USS Mars.

From October 1970, he worked as a sales rep and in graphics for A.B. Dick Duplicating Products of Oklahoma. He also worked for Sooner Printing and National Web Envelope. Then in 1989, Ron went to work for Western Web, retiring in 2009. He was always committed to his career and was known for being committed and dependable, always with a smile.

Ron was very proud of his family and always enjoyed making trips to Texas to see his grandkids. His hobbies included bass fishing, camping and hunting. He also had a passion for working in his yard and listening to country music.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his brothers Harold Dean Brooksher and Bobby Joe Brooksher; sister Shirley Burnes and sister-in-law Sundra Brooksher.

Loved ones left to remember him are his daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Jerrod Dawson of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Parker, Ava and Taylor; brothers Don Brooksher of Edmond and Jim Brooksher of Littleton, Colorado; brother-in-law Martin Burnes; numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
