A graveside funeral service for Ronald E. Saxon, 80, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Dennis Fredricks officiating.

Ronald E. Saxon was born January 11, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Luther W. Saxon and Ella Fay (Brewer) Saxon. He passed from this life on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Ron grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1961. He attended Central State in Edmond, now known as UCO.

In November 1962, he married Dayliene Smiley and they shared over 60 years of life together.

Ron went into crop dusting as an accomplished pilot. Then later, opened a real estate office and in the early 1970’s, he started building homes in the Chickasha area. Over the years, he was a member of the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce and on the Chickasha City Council. For many years, he and Dayliene were members of First Baptist Church.

Ron loved being a pilot and continued to fly throughout his life and enjoyed flying the family to many vacation destinations. He was also involved with the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and would take his sons as they were growing up. He loved coaching Little League football and baseball. Ron had a great sense of humor and got a kick out of practical jokes.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Loved ones left to remember him are his wife, Dayliene of the home; sons Steven Saxon and wife Lisa of Seminole and Mark Saxon of Lakewood, Colorado; grandchildren Devon, Saulyer and spouse Kristen, Stevany and spouse Laercio, and Daylon; great-grandchildren Samuel and Sullivan; sisters Judy Smith and Denni Carroll; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation with the family present will be Wednesday, June 21st from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The service and interment are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
