Graveside memorial services for Roger Charles Wagner, 78, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 on Friday, July 2, 2021 in the El Reno Cemetery with Kim Hayes officiating.

Roger Charles Wagner was born on December 27, 1942 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Charles Robert Wagner and Sarah Josephine (Fuller) Wagner. He died Tuesday June 22, 2021 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma with his family by his side.

Roger grew up and graduated high school in El Reno and completed two years at junior college.

He was a truck driver for many years, driving for American Farm Lines and Bunte Candy Company, eventually owning and operating his own trucking company MidAmerican Freight, which he then leased to Landstar for 15 years. He had also owned and operated Wagner Electronics. He had worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a switchman, Radio Shack as a technician, Anson Petroleum as a well pumper and for Moore’s APCO.

After he came to Chickasha, he was a member of the Eagles Lodge 4070 and rode motorcycles with the Eagle Riders. He met Brenda (Stewart) Fuller at the Eagles Lodge and they were married in September 2008. Together they enjoyed contributing and participating in the Eagles Lodge benefits and functions. The Lodge members are good people and were like family to Roger.

Roger and Brenda enjoyed taking country drives and getting a Sonic malt. For the last 6 years, they loved babysitting Norah, their great-granddaughter, he called her his “baby doll”. Roger liked baking breads, smoking meatloaf and bologna which was his and everyone’s favorite.  He also like building and racing antique muscle cars, motorized remote airplanes and helicopters.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Robert Wagner, mother Sarah Josephine Moore, stepfather CB Moore, daughter Darla Jean Polhamus, son Stormy Edward Wagner and stepsister Sharon Moore Smith.

Survivors include his wife Brenda of the home; children James Wagner and wife Kim of Chickasha, Chuck Wagner of Geary, and Sara Wagner Seyler of Greenfield, Lorrae Harrell and husband Charles of Tulsa, Ginger Wagner of Geary; stepchildren Chanda Jennings and husband Kevin of Chickasha, Dana Fuller of Oklahoma City and Dallas Fuller and wife Shelia of Edmond; brother Carlton Lee Wagner of Tulsa and stepsister Darla Rogers Moore of Sandy, Utah; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements and interment of cremains in El Reno Cemetery are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
