Graveside services for Robert Guy Hammons, 73, of Tulsa, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Friendship Cemetery, located near Pocasset, Oklahoma, with Todd Freeman officiating.

Robert Guy Hammons, known as Bob, was born November 15, 1942, in Pocasset, Oklahoma, the son of Hershel and Ima (Love) Hammons. He passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bob had a long and distinguished career with the United States General Accounting Office for over 33 years. He worked in Washington DC then transferred to St Louis, Missouri then to Oklahoma City and finished his career in Kansas City, Kansas in 1999.  He also wrote several reports related to proper disposal of waste products for Military installations such as Tinker Air Force Base. His specialty and interests were focused on environmental protection.

He worked tirelessly in his career. He was always steady and reliable, loved his family and had a strong happy marriage. He understood Politics and stayed informed.  His most current past time was writing family stories on Facebook.

Bob was preceded in death by both his parents, brothers, Gary and Keith Hammons, and his wife, Barbara Hammons, and sister-in-law, Jane Hammons.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Meredith Hammons of the home in Tulsa; son, Robert H Hammons and wife, Dana, of Enid; son, Mike Hammons and wife, Twila, of Enid; step-daughter Crystal Zerger and husband, David, of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Devin Bush and her husband Chris, and Thomas Hammons, all of Enid and Matthew Zerger of Tulsa; two great-grandsons Luke and Roman of Enid; one brother Jim Hammons and two sisters-in-law Shirley Hammons and Beverly Gregory, all of Pocasset; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment is under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
