Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Koehler, 92, of Cement, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cement with Pastor John Zwolle officiating.
Robert “Bob” Koehler was born on February 14, 1923 in Gotebo, Oklahoma, the son of Fredrick Koehler, Sr. and Dewey Lily (May) Koehler. He passed away at his home in Cement on Tuesday, April 07, 2015.
Bob was raised in Cement and attended Cement Public Schools. He joined the United States Air Force in December 1941, serving at Hickam Field Air Force Base. In January 1946 he finished his service in the military.
On July 25, 1947, Bob married Eleanor Christian in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were married more than 67 years.
He worked his adult life in the oilfield, finishing his final 34 years with the Cyril Oil Refinery, retiring in 1984.
His interests included collecting arrowheads, hunting, and tinkering on cars. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Bob was a life-time member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cement.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Koehler, Sr. and Lily Koehler; sisters, Gladys Ray, Clara May Koehler, and Sue Carpenter; brothers, Fred Koehler, Jr. and Harold Koehler; son, Bill Koehler; and great-grandson, Micah Koehler.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Beverly Calaway of Blanchard; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Youngblood and Steve Mink of Cement; sisters, Bertha Crawford of Odessa Missouri and Barbara Hood and her husband, Willis, of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren , 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous great great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
