Funeral services for Richard “Kent” Barrington will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Alex School Gymnasium with Kim Hayes officiating.
Richard “Kent” Barrington was born on March 23, 1956 in Chickasha, OK to Harold and Kay Barrington. He went to his heavenly home on February 14, 2021 at the age of 64.
Kent was raised east of Chickasha and attended school at Union Hill, Friend, and graduated from Amber-Pocasset in 1974. He was very active and won many awards in FFA.
Kent spent all of his life farming and loving his family and friends. He was a big man with a big heart.
Kent met Rose Crose in the fall of 1978 at church. They married January 1, 1981 and brought three sons, Colby, Kyle, and Kevin to their 40-year marriage. Kent could not have been prouder of his sons as they followed in his footsteps and inherited his love for the land.
Kevin gave him two grandchildren, Kase and Kennedy who were his joy. He spoiled and loved spending time with them.
Kent’s greatest passion was his love for custom harvesting, traveling from Texas to Canada, making lifelong friends.
Kent is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Kay Barrington, grandparents Louie and Murl Carroll and Otto and Cleo Barrington.
He is survived by his wife Rose, sons Colby (Gwen) of Erin Springs, Kyle (Jana), Kevin (Taylor) both of Bradley and two grandchildren Kase and Kennedy of Bradley, brothers Steve (Sonya), Randy (Vicky), Toby (Connie) of Bradley and Scott of Chickasha, brother-in-law Robert Crose of Bradley; nieces Kristy Handke (Derek) of Blanchard, Paige Haywood (Chester) of OKC, and Amber Rimer (Chris) of Dibble; nephews Michael Barrington (Emerald) of Bradley, Dustin (Angela) of Lindsay, Josh (Hailey) of Bradley, Jonathan of Bradley, Mason of Alex, Braelyn of Chickasha and eight great nieces & nephews; aunts Marilyn and Betty Barrington of Chickasha and Pat Thompson and husband Bill of Temple, Texas; and cousins Darrell Thompson of Temple, Texas and Larry Thompson of Alabama.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Interment will be in Bradley Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
