Graveside services for Richard Ray Pearcy, 80, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Kim Hayes officiating.
Richard Ray Pearcy, known by Dick or Dicky, was born March 11, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Robert Anderson Pearcy and Mildred Lorraine (Venable) Pearcy. He died on Sunday September 5, 2022 at his home in Chickasha.
Dick grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. He worked at several business here in Chickasha but his lifelong career was as a machinist at Chickasha Manufacturing, retiring in 2007.
On April 17, 1975, he married Hazel Lawson and they shared 39 years together.
He liked to buy, fix up, and resell old pick-ups and cars. He never said a bad word about anyone and was a very hard worker, working more than two or three jobs most of the time. He was a man with integrity. He enjoyed driving around and had never had a speeding ticket. He liked going to flea markets and garage sales.
Dick was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Hazel Pearcy, brothers Robert “Bobby” Pearcy and Charles “Chuck” Pearcy, sister Trenda Hughes, grandson Richard Lance Montgomery, step-daughter Linda Holder, step-son Gary Lawson, brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Zurline and Melvin Hughes; sisters-in-law Brenda Pearcy, Jan Pearcy and Elsie Pearcy.
Survivors are his children Stacy Pearcy Price of Chickasha, Steven Pearcy of Possum Kingdom, Texas, and Shanon Berg and husband Chris of Illinois; grandchildren, Lacey, Jade, Meagan, Haley and Steven; 10 great grandchildren, step daughters, Betty Austin, Brenda Reed, Patsy Tabor, Connie Line; step sons, Harold Reed and Dennis Reed; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; brother Jimmy Pearcy and sister Thaylia Zurline and many other family members and friends.
