Graveside services for Reba Olene Spearman, 90, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Fairlawn Cemetery with Randall Hill officiating.
Reba Olene Spearman was born January 26, 1930 in Verden, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Lum Franks and Elizabeth (Virgin) Franks. She died on Friday, August 21, 2020 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
Reba was raised in Verden and in the Cement area, attending Kechi schools. The family later moved to Chickasha.
On May 15, 1946, she married James D. Spearman and they lived in Oklahoma City for a short time before settling for their lifetimes in Chickasha.
Reba worked for a bit at Pet Milk while she went to beautician school. She then worked briefly as a beautician at the Chickasha Hotel and then opened a beauty shop out of her home for many years. After retiring the beauty shop, she was an apartment manager for a time.
She was a Christian woman and loved spending time with her family. It was important to her to enjoy and have all the family together for the holidays. Reba collected ceramic chickens and anything with chickens. She liked to crochet and knit and was an excellent seamstress.
Reba was preceded in death by both parents; husband James D. Spearman; brothers, Jim Franks and Bud Franks; and sisters, LaVerne Tims, Enaree Stockton, Gladys Beck, and Ruby Lamanski.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Charles Jenkins of Ninnekah; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Tena Spearman of New Castle; grandchildren, Melissa and Jorge Johnston, Misty Spearman, and Chris and Misty Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Chase Jenkins, Shelly Haynes, Roni Myers, and Holly Jenkins; great-great-grandchildren, Mason Daggs and RayLynn Brand; brother, Hershel Franks; and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
