Raymond Leroy Ferguson, 78, of Ninnekah, was born January 19, 1943 in Anadarko, Oklahoma and was raised by his loving grandmother Rose Shultz. His parents were Carol Oscar Ferguson and Margie (Stewart) Ferguson. He died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Ray grew up in Anadarko and attended Rose State College, The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Master’s in Natural and Applied Sciences.

He was enlisted in the United States Air Force from June of 1960 until June 1968 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

On December 9 1961, Raymond married the love of his life Paula Kay Strange in Anadarko and they had 59 wonderful years together.

He worked as an airplane mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base. He loved his grandkids, great-grandson, and two daughters, Jo Katherine and Micah Raynay.

He also enjoyed flying and was a flight instructor. Ray was an avid gun collector, gardener and a history enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife Paula of the home; daughters Jo Katherine Singleton and husband Ken of Chickasha and Micah Raynay Roberts of Chickasha; granddaughters Morgan Bratcher and husband Jared of Chickasha, Katherine Singleton of Washington DC and Jess Roberts of Stillwater; grandson Justin Roberts of Chickasha; great-grandson Jaxon Bratcher of Chickasha; ; brother Ron Ferguson of Wichita Falls, Texas; and other extended family and friends.

The family will hold services for Raymond at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Bible Baptist Church.

The cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
