F uneral services for Phillip Randolph Powell, 65, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church with Kim Hayes officiating.
Phillip Randolph Powell was born October 30, 1952 in Duncan, Oklahoma, the son of Henry Allen Powell and Lila Mae (Moore) Powell. He died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Phillip grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1972 and then he attended some college at USAO. He often returned and played in the USAO Alumni games.
He worked all over the country and overseas in the oilfield, retiring as an oilfield consultant. Overseas he worked for Red Adair putting out the oilwell fires in the late 80’s and early 90’s. He was an accomplished oil and gas man, receiving many awards.
Phillip and Shelly Jackson married in the late 1990’s in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was also a gambler and cardshark. He loved his family and was a loving and devoted husband.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle “Shelly” Powell, of the home; step-son and grandson, Noah Vance and N.D. Vance of Okmulgee; brothers, Bob Powell of Chickasha and Kenny Powell and wife, Sherron, of Chickasha; sister, Sandy Palmer and husband, Don, of Chickasha; many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services and cremation arrangements following the services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
