Services for Peggy Ruth McGrew, 82, of Ninnekah, will be held at a later date by her family.
Peggy was born June 19, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma, the daughter of Wiley B. Williams and Ruth (Terrell) Williams. She died Friday, April 26 th 2024 at her home in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
Peggy was the oldest of five children and lived in both Bokchito, Oklahoma and Lamont, California as a child.
She married Raymond Dewayne McGrew in Lamont, California on November 13, 1958. Peggy and Raymond soon moved to Ventura, California where they would live for 17 years before moving to Ninnekah in 1976. While in Ventura, Peggy became a licensed nurse and then continued working as a nurse in Oklahoma.
Peggy was a talented artist and enjoyed painting on canvas, especially landscapes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1996.
Loved ones left to remember Peggy are her two sons, Steven Wayne McGrew of Ninnekah and Raymond Bruce McGrew of Chickasha; her two sisters, Susie Rocha of Gardnerville, Nevada, and Beth Rosales of Bakersfield, California; four grandchildren, Melody Hampton of Amarillo, Texas, Daniel McGrew, Christopher McGrew and Matthew McGrew, all of Chickasha; five great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
