Graveside services for Pauline Clarice Thomas, 89, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Reverend Paul Knight officiating.
Pauline Clarice (Lowery) Thomas was born September 5, 1930 in Luther, Oklahoma, the daughter of Matt L. Lowery and Pearl Mabel (Jenkins) Lowery. She passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Pauline grew up in Major County and went to Tivole-209 School. She worked in the fields on the farm picking and chopping cotton.
On September 29, 1948, she married Charles William Thomas in Taloga, Oklahoma. After several years, Charles took a job with Sutton Nursery and moved all around trimming trees. He and Pauline then settled in Chickasha. She worked for Hermetic Switch for six years.
Pauline attended First Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord.
In more recent years, she cleaned houses to keep busy and took care of Charles. She liked helping Charles with their large garden. She also enjoyed crocheting and watching the news and preaching on TV.
She was preceded in death by both parents, two infant brothers, one brother Wesley Lowery, one sister Hazel Delores Sutton, granddaughter Rita Gaye Newton, and her husband Charles Thomas this past November.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Dean Newton of Chickasha and Charlene and David Brunson of Chickasha; brother Herman Laverne Lowery of Perryton, Texas; grandchildren Sherri Newton, Danny Mealer Negron and Leslie Edwards; two great-granddaughters Meghan and Baylee Apgar; nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
