A memorial service celebrating Paul David Crutchfield, 77, of Chickasha, will be held by the family at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024, in the Southwest corner of Shannon Springs Park.

Paul David Crutchfield, known as David, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born August 22, 1947 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to P.D. Crutchfield and Betty Faye (Wiedenmaier) Crutchfield.

The family moved to Chickasha where he attended Chickasha Public Schools, graduating with the CHS Class of 1965. While in high school, he played football for the Fightin’ Chicks.

After high school, David attended OCLA (now USAO) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1971. He then attended nursing school at St. Anthony’s in Oklahoma City.

He went on to work at Safeway and later sold real estate for Ernie Philpot Realty. David decided to become a business owner and opened This N That Convenience Store, which he sold in 1985. He immediately opened the best liquor store in Chickasha, TNT Liquor, and after nearly four decades decided to sell it in 2018.

David enjoyed coaching CYSA Soccer. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge, participating in numerous fundraising activities. OU Football was one of his passions. Boomer Sooner!

He was one of the most generous people you came across. He helped countless people throughout his life. Anytime you spoke with David, he would brag on his grandkids. He loved them dearly and was extremely proud of each and every one of them.

If you knew him, you know he really enjoyed a good game of cards. He loved his Tommy Bahama shirts and his straw fedora. On a nice evening, you would find him poolside, smoking his Cuban cigars.

David was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Deborah Foster.

Loved ones left to remember him are his son Jeff Crutchfield and wife Stacy of Chickasha and grandchildren Allison and Turner; son Casey Crutchfield and fiancée Tabitha Bible of Chickasha and grandchildren Kaylee, Kameron and Kashton; brother and sister-in-law Doug and Joy Crutchfield of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please take your family out to dinner and tell them you love them.

Cremation services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
