Memorial services for Patsy Jean Brownen, 73, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church with Kim Hayes officiating.
Patsy Jean (Underwood) Brownen was born April 21, 1944 in Gracemont, Oklahoma, the daughter of Kirby Oscar Underwood and Etha Lucille (Lyons) Underwood. She died Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Pat grew up in Gracemont and graduated from Gracemont High School in 1962. She then attended Platt Business School and received a certificate of banking.
On February 1, 1963, she married Jerry Dean Brownen in Gracemont. They had almost 55 years together.
They lived at Gracemont for many years, and Pat worked at Anadarko Bank & Trust from 1969 to 1983. They then moved to Lakeside Village, Texas and built and managed a convenient store by the lake for many years. Several years ago, they moved back to Oklahoma, settling in Chickasha.
Pat was an active member of the Oklahoma Home & Community Education (OHCE) of Grady County and was very involved in community events, numerous clubs and activities. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was active in all the church activities. She loved to read and had read her Bible through many times.
Pat enjoyed flower gardening, and the family lovingly remembers her taking grafts of their plants and leaving sparse remnants struggling to survive. She was very independent and always had a cheerful outlook on life. She loved her family, and many funny stories are remembered by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by both parents; great-grandson, Paxton McCord Mills; sisters, Peggy Jo Underwood and Frankie Harding.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mark Daugherty of Gracemont; daughter, Jeanna Brownen of Oklahoma City; sister, Shirley Tilley of Checotah; granddaughter, Kirbi Jo Mills and husband, Blake, of Yukon; and other extended family and friends.

Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
