d. January 22, 2024

A celebration of life for Pamela Jean Walker will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at First Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Chickasha, Oklahoma, 602 S. 6 th Street at 2:00 pm following a private family burial.  Entrance to the Fellowship Hall is on Kansas Avenue.

Pamela Jean Walker was born December 7, 1955 in Limestone, Maine, the daughter of Jim and Oleta Walker. She passed from this life on January 22, 2024 in Chickasha surrounded by her friends.

Pam lived in numerous cities throughout the country, but always considered Chickasha home.  She attended Chickasha High School through her Junior year and graduated from high school in San Antonio, Texas.  She attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma and began her career with Moore Business Forms in Denton, Texas in Human Resources Department.  Then later, she moved with her parents to Moorehead, Minnesota where she graduated from Moorehead College with a degree in Business Administration.  It was in Moorehead where she began her long-term career with the Small Business Administration.  Pam was able to make her way back to Oklahoma transferring with the SBA.  Pam loved her adventures over the State of Oklahoma with her Small Business clients and made many longtime friends. Her clients have shared many stories about her commitment to them and the fact that they have never had an Economic Development Specialist that took so much interest in their success.  Pam continued to be an advocate for small business after her retirement in 2021.

First and foremost, she was a devoted daughter. Although she never married nor had children, Pam was considered a mother and aunt to many.  Words used to describe Pam by her family, friends and admirers are loyal, consistent, heart of gold, fully committed.  She loved planning and hosting parties, cooking, and traveling.  She was always there for her family and friends in need.

Pam lived and loved large, and all who knew her have incredible stories to tell and are better for having known her.

She is proceded in death by her parents, Jim and Oleta Walker, and her brother, Dan.

Loved ones left to remember her are Uncle Richard Burns, Cousins Sissy Terry, Jeanne Branam, Ricky Burns, Roxanne White and Fern Tomlinson, her “second mother”, Judy Boyle and the Teer family, close lifelong friends Kristy Jarnagin and Beckie Wilson, and many other extended family and friends.

We would like to give special thanks to Samantha Hoben, Glenhaven Retirement Center, Grady Memorial Hospital and Life Line Hospice for the love and care given to this special lady.

Viewing will be Wednesday, January 24 th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Chickasha Fire Fighters Local 2041, P.O. Box 629, Chickasha, Oklahoma, 73023, who support SW Family Youth Services or to your favorite charity.
