Funeral services will be held for Norma Heusel, 74, of Chickasha at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Layman officiating.
Norma Gail Heusel was born on November 25, 1937, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Roy Louis “Tobe” and Anna Marie (Wurth) McCall. She died on November 30, 2011, at home in Chickasha.
Norma spent her childhood on a farm near Thomas and was a member of the Thomas Terrier’s Band.
She married the love of her life and husband of over 56 years, George Edward Heusel, on June 2, 1955, in Thomas. George was a career soldier and his assignments in the United States Army took them first to El Paso, Texas, later to Munich, Germany, and then home to Oklahoma where they finished raising their family.
Norma has been a member of the New Life Christian Church since 1980, and was an avid supporter and fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. She was employed for a time by the Chickasha Public Schools. She loved her family dearly and was an enthusiastic supporter of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: both parents, sister Zella Marie “Sissy” Fry, and nephew Dennis Eugene Fry.
Survivors include: husband George of the home; one son, Bruce E. Heusel and wife Nancy of Ninnekah; one daughter Teresa A. Foster and husband Johnny “Kent” of Chickasha; five grandchildren, Timmy Keck and Garrett & Ashley Foster all of Ninnekah, and Andrew & Jentri Foster of Laverty; three great-grandchildren, Charley & Joey Keck of Oklahoma City, and Maddox Foster of Laverty; one sister, Margaret Fruit and husband Darrell of Chickasha; one brother, Gene McCall and wife Galeela of Watonga; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
