Graveside services for Nita Ray (Annesley) Thompson, 73, of Chickasha, will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the Norman IOOF Cemetery, located at 1913 North Porter Avenue in Norman, Oklahoma, with Keith Wilson officiating.

Nita Ray (Annesley) Thompson was born on April 29, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Helen and Ernest Ray Annesley. She died Friday, October 16, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Nita grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School.

She married Leslie Roy Thompson on May 5, 1961 in Oklahoma City and was a homemaker all of her life, caring for her children. For the first ten years of their marriage, she and Leslie lived in various areas of western Oklahoma, where three of their four children were born. They relocated to Chickasha in 1973, where their son, Jody was born. Later in 1983, they made their home near Cement, and around 1999, she moved back to Chickasha, where she lived out her life.

Nita loved to square dance and she and Leslie were members of the Swinging Chicks Square Dance Club. They also always enjoyed spending their summers at the lake. She loved her grandchildren deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. While living in Chickasha, she attended Bible Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1971 and her husband in 2005.

She is survived by her son, Roderick Thompson of Sayre; daughter, LaDonna Wright of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Bryan Beavers of Oklahoma City; son, Jody Thompson, and his fiancé, Amie Buckmaster, of Sayre; mother, Helen Blakley Carpenter Fisk of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Peggy Annesley of Oklahoma City; twelve grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in the Norman IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
