Graveside funeral services will be held for Monroe Lee Dreadin, 78, of Chickasha at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011, in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
Monroe Lee Dreadin was born on February 25, 1933, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Melton Monroe Dreadin and Hattie Pearl Hill. He died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at home in Chickasha.
Monroe grew up in Chickasha and attended Chickasha Public Schools. He served in the United States Air Force from November 1951 to December 1956.
He married the love of his life and wife of over fifty-five years, Ruby Combs, on December 7, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio.
Monroe always worked hard to provide a loving home for his family. He was employed as a truck driver for 19 th Seed Company for twenty years before working as a self-employed truck driver. He retired in 1979.
He was preceded in death by: both parents, two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include: wife Ruby Dreadin of the home, daughter Debbie Ann Keel of Chickasha, son Robert Warren Dreadin of Chickasha, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
