Viewing and visitation for Mildred “Nanny” Fisher, 83, of Chickasha, will be Tuesday and Wednesday, January 5 th and 6 th , 2016. There are no public services scheduled, the family will hold their own private services at a later date.
Mildred Fisher was born July 18, 1932 in Stonewall, Oklahoma, the daughter of Virgil Glover and Nellie (Click) Glover. She died January 3, 2016 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Mildred grew up in Stonewall, then as a young girl moved with her family to the Center/Pickett area. She then married Bennie Fisher on September 2, 1961 in Madill, Oklahoma.
She was a homemaker for most of her life. She came to the Cement area in 1969 and in 2010 moved to Chickasha. She was a member of the Cement First Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, cooking, sewing, looking for antiques and taking care of her grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Bennie Fisher; daughter, Rosa J. Clift; three brothers, Charles, Richard and Sonny Glover; and two sisters, Francis Ellis and Lula Mae.
Survivors include her children, Laura Ponsford of Mesquite, Texas, LaVonda Davis and husband, Clarence, of Chickasha, Randy Snow and wife, Amanda, of Chickasha, Cheryl Fisher-Wynn of Chickasha, Teresa Cogburn and husband, Vernon, of Gans; brothers, Gene Glover and wife, Leota, of Ada and Tommy Glover and wife, Kay, of Daisy; sister, Vivan Whittington of Washington; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
