Funeral services for Mildred Lynn Wilson, 91, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bryan Haynes officiating.

Mildred Lynn Wilson was born August 15, 1923 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Manly M. Smith and Viola (Lanham) Smith. She died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her home in Chickasha.

Mildred grew up in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1941 and attended OCW. She married Roy Lee Wilson, Sr. on October 5, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas

She worked at Western Union during World War II. Mildred was active in the Women’s International Bowling Association for several years. She also served as a state director and as president of the local bowling association. She was the first woman to bowl a 600 series in Chickasha and went on to bowl three more. Mildred was a charter member of College Heights Baptist Church.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wilson Sr., her son, Roy Wilson Jr., and her brother, Jack Smith.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Melea Wilson of Edmond; daughter-in-law, Ginger Wilson of Chickasha; sisters, Sandra Hogue and her husband, Jim of Afton, and Kathryn Royse and her husband, Earl of Sapulpa; niece, Angela White of Jenks; special friends, Beth and Bobby Kizzia of Chickasha and special friend, Joyce Leverett of Chickasha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the College Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.

I nterment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
