Funeral services for Mildred Louise Absher, 86, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Mildred Louise (Tucker) Absher was born September 10, 1930 in Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, the daughter of Carl Tucker and Myrtle (Skirlock) Tucker Fowler. She died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
As a young lady, Mildred married Charlie Anderson and to this union Glenna, James Michael “Mike”, David, Barbara, and Doug. She lived and raised her family in Choctaw, Oklahoma and Texas. Later, when the children were raised, she had worked on the assembly line for Western Electric in Oklahoma City.
In the early 1970’s she married Larry Absher and they lived in Lampasas, Texas. When her health began to decline, she moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family.
Mildred was devoted to the Lord and enjoyed church. She loved to sing and dance.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, Larry; infant daughter, Deborah Anderson; daughter, Glenna (Anderson) Bell; sister, Pearl Romero; and brother, Frank Tucker.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sally Anderson of Chickasha; son, David Anderson of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Dee Anderson of Lampasas, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robin Wallace of St. Cloud, Minnesota; brother, Warner Fowler; grandchildren, Michael, Billy, and Brian Bell; James Michael and Jason Anderson; Jennifer and Chris Wallace; and Daina, Devin, and Derek Anderson; several great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be following the services at 2:00 p.m. in Arlington Memory Gardens located in Oklahoma City under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
