Private memorial graveside services for Mildred H. Johnson, 88, of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery by family and friends.
Mildred H. Johnson was born February 21, 1932 in New York, New York to the late Henry Joseph and the late Audrey Brown Smith. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a hospital stay.
Mildred lived most of her life in New York City. After graduating high school, she worked as a seamstress in the Garment Industry. There wasn’t ANYTHING Mildred couldn’t make or fix. Her knowledge of fabric, upholstery designs and creativity in fashion was truly a talent.
After retirement, Mildred moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma, where she lived for the last 20 years. She was a good sister, friend and neighbor.
Mildred was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Henry, Stanley and Sydney; and sisters, Dorothy and Audrey.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Gloria Johnson of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Helen Joseph of New York, New York; nephew, Anthony Johnson of Tennessee; two nieces, Nellie Monroe of New York and Phyllis Elaine Johnson of Georgia; friends, Myrtle Powell of Brooklyn, New York and James and Jo Ann Jackson of Chickasha, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
