Funeral services for Michael Patrick Smith, 68, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Michael Patrick Smith was born on November 21, 1948 in Lawton, Oklahoma, the son of LeRoy George Smith and Annie Meryl (Booth) Smith. He died Wednesday, October 04, 2017 in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Michael grew up in various areas as his father was in the military, including Lawton, Germany, and Rush Springs. He graduated in 1967 from Eisenhower High School in Lawton. He then attended and graduated from Cameron University with a degree in Chemistry.
On April 11, 1973, he married Brenda Gail Theriot in Brazoria, Texas.
Michael worked for Dow Chemical Company, Agreco out of Louisiana, Delta Faucet in the Lab, ICI Industrial Compounding, who was bought out by FrachTech, where he retired several years ago.
He liked fishing, reading, and sightseeing at the places he traveled. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda; daughter, Tammy Smith and granddaughter, Katelyn Smith.
Survivors include his sons, Windell Smith of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Michael Smith and wife, Kathy, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Steven Smith of Norman; daughter, Cheryl Teel, of Rush Springs; sister, Sharon (Smith) Khoeler; twenty-two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Michael’s wishes were cremation following the services.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
