Maxine Roberts, 88, of Chickasha, passed away June 15, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born June 12, 1932 in Fillmore, Oklahoma. She grew up in Fillmore the oldest of ten siblings and was raised by her mother Bessie (Chaney) Moore and her father Sidney Moore.
In August of 1953, she married Orville Duane “OD” Perry and to this union her children Duane Perry and Alice (Perry) Tims were born.
After coming to Chickasha in 1953, Maxine and OD worked a farm north of town for many years. She also waitressed many years and had worked at PET Milk. Maxine was a very hard worker and had the spirit of an entrepreneur.
She had many business adventures that she enjoyed with her spouse, Charles Wooldridge. She helped him in his Heat and Air business, they ran an “antique” shop, operated many garage sales and estate sales and managed several rental properties together. Maxine continued to own and operate rental properties throughout her years. She loved the outdoors and old time dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Alice Tims; and sister Wanda Coats.
Survivors include her son Duane Perry and wife Pat of Chickasha; granddaughter Chandra Voegeli and husband Derrick of Chickasha; great-grandchildren Ava Lovelady and Aubree Voegeli of Chickasha; step-daughter Jo Anita Still and husband James of Yukon; step-grandchildren Michael Mitchell and wife Emily, Joe Mitchell and wife Bridget and Megan Bingham and husband Bobby; step-great-grandchildren Brayden, Brooklyn and Bayle Bingham, Ian, Jax and Ayla Mitchell, and Preston and Cameron Mitchell; siblings Bubby Moore and wife Pat, Donnie Moore and wife Linda, Ronnie Moore and wife Eva, Bobby Don Moore, Ethel Gray, Patsy Chapman and husband Jimmy, Juanita Carter, Betty Bynum, Alma “Pee Wee” Purvis and husband Tommy; friend, Michael Mantooth; and other extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
