Maxine Byrum Moore passed away peacefully in her sleep at Shanoan Springs Nursing Center on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She was born January 16 th , 1915 at home in the town of Long, Oklahoma. Her mother was Dosha Howell Byrum and father was James Henry Byrum.

Maxine married Murray Alan Moore December 20 th 1934 and moved to Ninnekah a couple years later and were selected to be the “Pioneers of the Year” award in 1998. They attended the Ninnekah United Methodist Church. Maxine worked at Badgett’s Machine shop in Chickasha from 1954 to 1980 and absolutely loved every minute of it. She also loved helping her husband in the fields and gardening. Her husband Murray died on October 5 th , 2000. James Vernon (JV) Moore their only son was born on June 5 of 1937 and passed in 2011.

Maxine was also preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Verda, Lola, Dosha, Nonie, and brothers Vernon, Max (her twin), and Noel.  She also lost her grandson Aaron Dale Moore in 2009.

She is survived by Kathryn Bayne her daughter-in-law of Ninnekah, and her grandchildren, Chris Moore of Elk City, Lisa Prentiss of Sayre, Stacie Moore of Woodward, David James Moore of Anadarko,  and Nena Morgan of Moore, Oklahoma. She has several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well.

Family will have a private graveside ceremony at a date to be determined.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
