Funeral services for Mary Sue Craig, 70, of Marlow, will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glory Bound Church, 1109 N. Broadway, Marlow, Oklahoma with Robert Bolin officiating and David Woods assisting.
Mary Sue Craig was born on July 13, 1944 in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Winston Frank Rogers and Dovie Victoria (Jolley) Rogers. She died at home on Sunday, January 18, 2015.
Mary Sue grew up in the Chickasha and Grady County area. She married Millard George “Shorty” Craig, Jr. on July 7, 1962 in Chickasha. For over forty years, she lived in Rush Springs.
She worked at Dorian’s Food Cannery, was a housekeeper for various families and businesses, as well as a homemaker. Mary Sue was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mary Sue enjoyed all types of games, such as playing various card games and dominos, a tradition passed down from both her father’s and her mother’s families. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also loved talking on the phone.
She was preceded in death by her father, Winston Frank Rogers; mother, Dovie Victoria (Jolley) Wheeler; stepfather, Alburn Wheeler; stepmother, Lola Rogers; husband, Shorty Craig; brother, Jimmy Rogers; four sisters, Shirley Rogers, Betty Moe, Nancy Bolin, and Sherry Harrison.
She is survived by her sister, Cynthia McKenna of Virginia; three sons, Ernest Craig and his wife, Linda, of Duncan, Joel Craig and his wife, Bobbie, of Gresham, Oregon, and Russell Craig of Rush Springs; one daughter, Dovie Gunn and her husband, Dale, of Marlow; ten grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Neisha, Matthew, Carlynn, Robert, Taylor, Dalton, Kamri, and Emma; five great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
