Funeral services for Mary Ella (Hess) Ratliff, 80, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Donaldson officiating.
Mary Ella (Hess) Ratliff was born July 28, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Wilbur Richard Hess, Jr. and Lorene Merl (Boone) Hess. She passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Mary graduated from Chickasha High School in 1960 and she married her high school sweetheart, Wesley Allen Ratliff on August 4, 1960. They were married 42 years, until Wes passed away in September of 2002.
They raised their family in Lubbock, and moved back to Chickasha in 1976 to join the family business, Hess Oil Company, where she worked until retiring in 2002.
After Wes died, she lovingly devoted her time and attention to their dog Buddy. Mary loved going to church and being involved with the church activities. She attended Epworth United Methodist Church for many years and most recently attended Victory Family Church. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Food Pantry.
Mary liked to read, work Sudoku puzzles and watch movies. She exercised everyday at Tan and Tone. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband Wes.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Rick and Vicki Ratliff of North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Roxanne and Doug Epperson of Chickasha; grandchildren Chris Epperson of Chickasha, Melissa Chilton and her husband Zach of Minco, Shelbi Ratliff and her fiancé Tony Mangini of North Carolina, and Blake Ratliff and his fiancée Delaney Cornock of Florida; great-grandchildren Kenzi, Luke and Liam; brothers and sisters-in-law Tommy and Connie Hess of Florida and Jerry and Charlotte Hess of Florida; and other extended family and friends.
There will be no viewing.
Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
